Great Leadership Sayings.... mostly from someone else!

A selection of leadership thoughts that I've found helpful or inspiring over the years. Used to have all these behind me in my old corporate office days - on my 'wonderwall'. It got to the point where I could just point at the appropriate pithy saying during a conversation or in response to a question without even turning round.... must get a new pinboard
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them - Einstein
A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don't necessarily want to go but ought to be - Rosalynn Carter
If I had six hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend the first four sharpening the axe - Abraham Lincoln
True leaders conceive & articulate goals that lift people out of their petty preoccupations and unite them in pursuit of objectives worthy of their best efforts - John Gardner
When in doubt - do the right thing - Anon
Before you can inspire with emotion, you must be swamped with it yourself. Before you can move their tears, your own must flow. To convince them, you must yourself believe - Winston Churchill
If you have the power, it is quite easy to get people to follow you. Your responsibility lies in ensuring you lead them well and that your journey is one worth the travelling - Nigel Girling
